Longwood 80, Colgate 75

Dana Smith scored 21 points and Longwood erased a 15-point second-half deficit to defeat Colgate 80-75 on Saturday. Trailing 57-42 with 10:40 remaining in the game, the Lancers (15-12) rallied on a 16-0 run to improve their home record to 12-2 this season. Yaw Gyawu led Colgate (9-17), which has lost three straight, with 23 points. Longwood erased the deficit in 3:21, getting 3-pointers from Durann Neil and Martiz Washington and six points from Antwan Carter. Smith's layup gave the Lancers a 58-57 lead with 7:18 remaining in the game. Smith scored 15 points in the second half and was 8 of 12 from the field for the game. The Lancers didn't trail after Smith's jumper gave them a 70-69 lead with 1:53 remaining. Kevin Swecker scored 16 points and Carter added 11 for the Lancers. Ben Jonson added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Colgate.
