Jamal Olasewere netted a career-high 19 points and C.J. Garner added 15 to lead Long Island over Fordham 82-70 on Tuesday night.

The Blackbirds (4-0) trailed 55-54 with 12:12 left in the second half, before Kyle Johnson's 3-pointer sparked a 23-6 run for Long Island that ended with 2:13 left to play.

Olasewere's layup capped the run and put the Blackbirds in front 77-61.

The Rams (1-3) trailed 40-38 at halftime and shot 12 for 22 from the floor (54.5 percent) in the second half, but their 13 turnovers resulted in 15 points for Long Island.

Fordham had 20 turnovers in the game, compared to 10 for the Blackbirds.

Branden Frazier led the Rams with a game-high 24 points. Chris Gaston added 15 points, Alberto Estwick 14 and Brenton Butler 13 in the loss.

Both Long Island (29 for 58) and Fordham (26 for 52) shot 50 percent for the game.
