Casper Ware scored 16 points to lead four Long Beach State players in double figures and the 49ers defeated San Francisco State 82-65 Monday night.
Greg Plater added 14 points, Eugene Phelps had 13 points and seven rebounds, and Larry Anderson scored 10 for the 49ers (1-1).
Marquel Hoskins led the the lower-division Gators (0-1) with 16 points while Nefi Perdomo had 11.
Long Beach State trailed by five early before going on a 26-10 run for a 36-25 halftime lead. The 49ers pulled away in the second half and pushed their lead to as much as 22.

Ware hit 7 of 11 shots and finished with six assists, six steals and four rebounds.
