Locke scores 30 in UNCG's 102-95 win over The Citadel
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Kayel Locke scored a career-high 30 points and UNC Greensboro defeated The Citadel 102-95 Thursday night.
Locke was 11 of 14 from the floor while grabbing eight rebounds.
Diante Baldwin added career highs of 23 points and nine assists and Francis Alonso also scored 21 points, making four 3-pointers. Marvin Smith scored 10 points and had a career-high 14 rebounds.
The Spartans (8-13, 4-4 Southern) shot 42 percent, including 10 of 23 from the arc, and outrebounded the Bulldogs 49-32 in winning for the third time in four games.
Quinton Marshall and Derrick Henry led The Citadel (9-12, 2-6) with 20 points each. Four others scored 11 apiece.
Marshall's 3-pointer got the Bulldogs within two, 88-86, with 3:44 to go but Baldwin scored five points in a 9-2 run. Zane Najdawi followed with a 3-pointer but a basket by Baldwin and two free throws by Alonso made it 101-91 with a half-minute left.
