Julian Boyd scored his 1,000th career point and all five Long Island University starters were in double figures Thursday night as the Blackbirds defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 82-64 for their sixth straight win.
C.J. Garner had 16 points, Jamal Olasewere 15, Boyd and Jason Brickman 14 apiece and Michael Culpo 13. Garner also had a career-high nine rebounds.
LIU (11-6, 5-0 Northeast Conference) shot only 35.9 percent from the field (23 of 64), but made up for it with 27 of 36 free throws compared to only 5 of 12 for the Knights.
The Blackbirds led by 17 in the first half, but Fairleigh Dickinson (1-14, 0-5) clawed back to trail by five early in the second. Leading 58-52, LIU used an 11-0 run to pull away.
Lonnie Robinson had 25 points and 12 rebounds, both season highs, to lead the Knights and George Goode had 17 points and 16 rebounds.
