Lawrence leads Manhattan to 67-54 win over Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) Jermaine Lawrence was 8 of 10 from the floor for a career-high 19 points to lead Manhattan to a 67-54 come-from-behind win over Marist on Monday night.

Lawrence, who was 6 of 8 from the floor in the first half, accounted for most of Manhattan's field goals as the Jaspers made just 8 of 25 and trailed 31-27 at the break. The Jaspers stayed close by making 11 of 13 free throws.

Marist stayed out front until Emmy Andujar, who finished with 13 points and five assists, scored five straight to give Manhattan its first lead in the second half, 41-40. The Jaspers had an 11-4 run to go up 58-49 at the 5:18 mark.

Manhattan (15-12, 12-6) and Monmouth are tied for third in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference behind Iona and Rider.

Chavaughn Lewis led Marist (5-23, 4-14) with 16 points. Khallid Hart added 12.
