Late Love carries Arkansas-Pine Bluff past Seattle, 58-56

SEATTLE (AP) JoVaughn Love scored five points in the final minute and his jumper with :28 left gave Arkansas-Pine Bluff the lead and a 58-56 win over Seattle in the season-opener for both squads Friday night.

Love finished with 15 points and nine rebounds to lead the Golden Lions, with Deshon Bayless adding 10 points and eight boards.

Love was 3 of 15 from the field and knocked down 1 of his 7 3-point attempts, but he was 8 of 12 from the free throw line.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff shot 20 of 55 from the field, including 7 of 30 from long range.

Seattle got 11 points and eight rebounds from Jack Crook and William Powell added 10 points and nine boards.

The Redhawks shot 34.7 percent from the field (17 of 49), 6 of 16 from beyond the arc (37.5 percent).

Seattle held a five-point lead at intermission, 33-28.
