Lamar slips past SE Louisiana 57-50

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) Tyran de Lattibeaudiere scored 14 points, hauled in 10 rebounds and Lamar edged past Southeastern Louisiana with a 57-50 win Monday night.

Anthony Holliday added 12 points and Marcus Owens had 10 as Lamar (10-8, 4-2 Southland) snapped a four-game skid against Southeastern Louisiana (5-13, 2-3) and extended its series advantage to 24-20.

Down by 10 with 5:17 left in the first half, Lamar raced to the break with a 14-3 run that included four free throws and a layup just ahead of the buzzer from Owens to take a 29-28 advantage into the locker room.

Southeastern Louisiana retook the lead early in the second half but Lamar stayed close, powering past the Lions with a 3-pointer from Dontavious Sears that made it 44-42 with 6:49 to go and the Cardinals pulled away down the stretch.

Zay Jackson led Southeastern Louisiana with 19 points.
