Lamar rolls over Abilene Christian 80-61

GARLAND, Texas (AP) Kevin Booze hit his first five 3-point attempts to score a career-high 35 points and lead Lamar to an 80-61 win over Abilene Christian on Monday night.

Booze hit 9 of 13 from beyond the arc - both career-highs for the freshman - and made 6 of 7 free throw attempts. Anthony Holliday had 14 points and Tyran de Lattibeaudiere added 11 for Lamar (12-12, 6-6 Southland Conference).

Lamar, which had lost four of its last five games, jumped out to a 23-15 lead midway in the first half and led 40-32 at the break. The Cardinals opened the second half with a 9-2 run and led 62-45 with 9:28 left in the game.

Abilene Christian (9-15, 3-8) has lost eight straight.

Lamar made 7 of 11 3-point attempts in the first half and 11 of 19 for the game.

Parker Wentz had 19 points and Austin Cooke added 12 for Abilene Christian.
