Brandon Davis scored 21 points and Lamar built a big first-half lead in an 83-59 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday night in a Southland Conference game.

Davis was one of three players in double figures for Lamar (14-8, 5-3). Anthony Mills scored 19 points for the Cardinals, and Devon Lamb took 10 rebounds to go with his 11 points for a double-double.

Southeastern Louisiana (8-12, 2-6) was within 21-16 with 7:09 left in the first half when Lamar went on a 23-8 run to close the half leading 44-24.

Davis made 5 of 9 field goal attempts, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc, and hit 7 of 8 foul shots. Lamar had a big edge in field goals, hitting 30 of 59 (50.8 percent) to Southeastern Louisiana's 21 of 46 (45.7 percent).

Jeremy Campbell led Southeastern Louisiana with 14 points. Elgin Bailey and Daron Populist added 10 apiece.
