Kuakumensah ties Ivy blocks record, Brown beats CCSU 82-64

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) Cedric Kuakumensah had 21 points and 16 rebounds and tied an Ivy League record for career blocked shots as Brown beat Central Connecticut State 82-64 on Wednesday night.

Kuakumensah shot 7 of 11 from the floor, making his only 3-point attempt and all six free throws. His fourth block of the game with 7:04 left was the 252nd of his career, tying Brian Gilpin (Dartmouth, 1993-97).

The Bears (2-5) scored 11 straight to end the first half with a 43-23 lead.

Austin Nehls' 3-pointer for the Central Connecticut (0-6) closed the gap to 12 with 14 minutes to play and the Blue Devils would get no closer.

Tavon Blackmon added 14 points for Brown. Jason Massey scored 11 and Corey Daugherty 10.

Khalen Cumberlander had 13 points to lead Central Connecticut. Mustafa Jones scored 12 and Jahlil Nails 10.
