Knee injury ends season for Charlotte's Coleman

Charlotte forward RaShad Coleman will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee.

The senior reserve was injured Sunday when his knee buckled as he made a breakaway layup in overtime of the 49ers' 63-61 victory over Saint Louis. An MRI on Monday revealed a fracture of the patella.

Coleman was averaging 3.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in just over 14 minutes a game for Charlotte (12-5, 2-1 Atlantic 10).

The injury is another blow to Charlotte's depth following redshirt freshman guard Shamarr Bowden's decision last week to transfer.
