NEW YORK (AP) St. John's freshman guard Rysheed Jordan will miss the Red Storm's NIT opening-round game against Robert Morris with tonsillitis.
Jordan, a 2013-14 Big East all-rookie team selection, is expected to only miss Tuesday night's game because of the illness. St. John's coach Steve Lavin said Jordan is likely to be available if the Red Storm (20-12) advance past the Colonials (21-13).
Jordan is averaging 9.7 points, a team-leading 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
The Red Storm are making their record 29th appearance in the NIT.
