Jones helps Radford pull away and beat Catawba 68-60

RADFORD, Va. (AP) Cameron Jones made a key dunk and 3-pointer to help Radford pull away and beat Division II Catawba 68-60 on Wednesday night.

Jones scored 8 of his 9 points in the second half. Taj Owens had 12 points and Ed Polite Jr. added 10 to lead Radford (2-1). Malik Constantine scored 18 points with 11 rebounds, and Andrew Ingram chipped in 11 points for Catawba.

Jones scored on a dunk and Owens added a 3-pointer to give Radford a 49-41 lead. Constantine made two jumpers and Julian Sampah a layup to pull Catawba to 49-47. Owens split a pair of free throws and Jones made a 3-pointer to spark an 11-3 surge and stretch the Highlanders lead to 60-50 with three minutes left.

A 5-0 spurt pulled the Indians to 60-55. Darius Bolstad made a layup, Polite tipped in a shot, and the Highlanders were 4-of-4 from the line to seal it.
