Johnson, Williams lead Akron past Air Force 84-75

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Isaiah Johnson had 19 points, six rebounds and five assists, Josh Williams hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points and Akron beat Air Force 84-75 on Friday night in the Savannah Invitational.

Johnson made 7 of 10 from the field and Antino Jackson scored 15 for the Zips, who have won four in a row.

A 3-pointer by Jacob Van pulled Air Force within four with 4:35 to play, but Jackson scored 11 points as Akron (4-1) made 12 of 16 from the free throw line from there to seal it.

Air Force (5-1) shot 57.7 percent and led by as many as 10 points in the first half but made just 10 of 28 from the field after the break.

Van and Frank Toohey scored 17 points apiece and Hayden Graham added 16 for the Falcons.

Akron shot just 45 percent, but scored 20 second-chance points off 14 offensive rebounds.
