Jacksonville takes down Thomas (Ga) 92-64

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Marcel White scored 27 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 10 of 11 at the free throw line to send Jacksonville past NAIA Thomas University (Ga.) 92-64 on Monday night.

White's 3-point play during a 12-1 run to end the first half gave Jacksonville (2-2) its first lead of the game at 28-27. White scored seven of the 12 points during the stretch.

White also posted a career-high 15 rebounds. He's the first Dolphin to record a double-double since Ben Smith against Kennesaw State in 2008.

Jacksonville started the second half with a 7-0 run, and Darius Dawkins' 3-pointer increased the Dolphins' lead to 39-28, their first double-digit lead of the night.

The Dolphins dominated Thomas inside the paint, outscoring the Night Hawks 20-2 in the second half.

Adonai Rogers scored 13 points and Mike Lyons had 11 rebounds for Thomas (4-4).
