Jackson State senior Jenirro Bush will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon in his right foot during Monday's win against Texas Southern.
The 6-foot-7 Bush is the Tigers' leading scorer this season, averaging 15.5 points per game. The Southwestern Athletic Conference preseason player of the year was also second on the team with 4.7 rebounds per game.
Bush scored a team-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Monday's 54-51 victory over Texas Southern before the injury with 9:49 remaining.
Coach Tevester Anderson says Bush is ''not only a tremendous talent on the court, he is an even better young man who has a very bright future ahead of him.''
