Jackson State beats Prairie View A&M 80-66

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) Yettra Specks made three from 3-point range and scored 23 points to help Jackson State beat Prairie View A&M 80-66 on Monday night.

The Tigers (14-12, 9-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference) never trailed in the second half and pulled away with a 10-2 run to lead 66-47 with 5:48 left. After that, the Panthers (3-21, 3-9) got no closer than 14. The loss snapped Prairie View A&M's two-game winning streak.

Prairie View A&M closed within three early in the second half but Jackson State responded with a 10-2 run to lead 43-32.

Raeford Worsham added 12 points, Kaven Bernard scored 11 and Troy Stancil 10 for Jackson State, which had a 40-27 edge on the boards and made 26 of 33 from the foul line.

Jordan Giddings led the Panthers with 18 points. Admassu Williams had 16 points and Malik Amos scored 10.
