Jackson St. beats Ark-Pine Bluff 67-56 for 4th straight win

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) Kaven Bernard had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Jackson State beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 67-56 on Monday night for the Tigers' fourth straight victory.

Jackson State made three 3-pointers - two from Troy Stancil - in less than three minutes during the second half for a 55-41 lead with 8:34 remaining. Stancil hit another 3 at the 6:44 mark to give the Tigers their largest lead at 17 points.

Stancil finished with 12 points and made four 3-pointers for Jackson State (17-12, 12-4), which is tied for second place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with Alcorn State with two games remaining.

Texas Southern (15-1) clinched the SWAC title with a win over Alabama State on Monday.

Marcus Wallace led Arkansas-Pine Bluff (7-24, 5-12) with 12 points. JoVaughn Love and Devin Berry scored 10 points apiece.
