Jenirro Bush scored a career-high 31 points to lead Jackson State to an 87-75 win over Chattanooga on Wednesday night, giving the Tigers their first win of the season.

Jackson State (1-5) shot a blistering 69.2 percent (18 of 26) in the second half.

The Tigers trailed by 10 points twice in the first half, but used a 19-5 run in the final 6:21 to lead 36-31 at the break.

After Jackson State built a 51-42 edge, the Mocs (2-4) went on a 10-0 run to lead 52-51.

Bush, who had 20 second-half points, then hit a 3-pointer to push the Tigers ahead for good. He was 10 of 16 from the field, hitting 5 of 8 from long range.

Rod Melvin had 13 points and eight assists for Jackson State.

DeAntre Jefferson and Ricky Taylor scored 18 apiece for the Mocs, who had their highest point total of the season. Jefferson was 8 of 8 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free-throw line.
