Jackson leads Southern Miss past Texas-San Antonio, 86-70

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) Kourtlin Jackson scored 20 points and Southern Mississippi cruised past Texas-San Antonio, 86-70 on Saturday night.

The Golden Eagles shot an efficient 22 of 42 from the field (52.4 percent), including 14 of 28 from beyond the arc. Southern Miss also collected 17 assists on its 22 made baskets.

Southern Miss led by six at intermission and extended its lead in the second from the free throw line, where they hit 28 of 33. The Golden Eagles converted 14 of 16 free throw attempts in the final 1:43. Keljin Blevins was 9 of 10 from the line in the closing streak.

Raheem Watts finished with 19 points for the Golden Eagles (7-12, 4-4 Conference USA). Khari Price finished with 12 points and distributed 11 assists.

Ryan Bowie scored 23 points to lead Texas-San Antonio (4-18, 2-7), with Christian Wilson adding another 22.
