Indiana State beats Drake 63-56 for 8th straight home win

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) Brenton Scott scored 13 points, Devonte Brown had 12 and Indiana State beat Drake 63-56 Tuesday night for its eighth-straight home win.

Indiana State was behind 45-43 with 8:48 left before Scott scored five points during a 10-0 run to take a 53-45 lead.

Reed Timmer scored nine straight Drake points, capped by a 3-pointer to pull within 59-56 with 34 seconds left. But Everett Clemons answered with two free throws and the Bulldogs did not score again.

Khristian Smith added 10 points for Indiana State (13-10, 7-4 Missouri Valley). Clemons finished with eight points and nine rebounds.

The Sycamores struggled from the line on 9-of-18 shooting, including just 2 of 4 in the final 18 seconds, but Drake did not take advantage.

Timmer had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Drake (6-17, 1-10) and Ore Arogundade added 15 points and eight boards.
