Illinois State powers past Bradley 70-54

NORMAL, Ill. (AP) Daishon Knight scored a career-high 26 points to propel Illinois State to a 70-54 win over Bradley on Saturday night.

Illinois State (14-12, 7-7 Missouri Valley) broke away with a 13-4 spurt early in the second half that included 3-pointers from Bobby Hunter and Zach Lofton to take a 51-39 lead with 11 minutes left, and never let Bradley closer than eight points down the stretch.

Paris Lee contributed 13 points and Hunter added 10 for the Redbirds, who hit 24 of 50 from the field and snapped a two-game skid with the win. Knight was 8 of 12 from the field and 5 of 7 from beyond the arc.

Bradley (11-16, 6-8) was held to just 17-for-49 shooting from the field, including 7 of 19 from 3-point range.

Walt Lemon Jr. led the Braves with 18 points, Auston Barnes had 12 and Tyshon Pickett 10 plus 11 rebounds.
