Houston defeats Rogers State 85-48

Maurice McNeil had 25 points and 13 rebounds and Alandise Harris added 12 points and 12 rebounds as Houston defeated Rogers State 85-48 on Thursday night.

Adam Brown and Darian Thibodeaux had 13 points each for the Cougars (8-5).

John Boyd scored 12 points and Deveric Taylor 10 for Rogers State, an NAIA school in Claremore, Okla., that designated the contest as an exhibition. It was the first game since Dec. 11 for the Hillcats, whose record remained 5-6.

Houston led 38-24 at intermission and pulled away in the second half by shooting 17 for 33 (51.5 percent) from the floor, including 5 of 7 3-point tries. The Cougars shot 33 of 66 (50 percent) for the game.
