Houston Baptist knocks off Abilene Christian 77-61

HOUSTON (AP) Anthony Odunsi and Josh Ibarra had career scoring nights to lead Houston Baptist to a 77-61 win over Abilene Christian in Southland Conference play on Monday night.

Ibarra, who made 9 of 10 from the field, had his first double-double, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Odunsi made 7 of 11 field goals for 20 points.

Marcel Smith made 4 of 6 from long range for 14 points and Colter Lasher, who had a career-high six assists, added 12 points for Houston Baptist (10-9, 5-4).

The Huskies, who have won four straight at home, jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never trailed. ACU closed to 40-39 when LaDarrien Williams hit a 3-point jumper at the 13:33 mark in the second half. Smith responded with a trey and Terry Harris made two straight layups for a 47-41 lead.

Williams had 16 points and Austin Cooke added 15 for ACU (9-13, 3-6).
