Hot-shooting Duquesne beats UMass-Lowell 79-63

PITTSBURGH (AP) Micah Mason scored 17 points with five 3-pointers and Jordan Stevens added 10 points with seven assists as Duquesne snapped a four-game skid in a big way, 79-63, over UMass-Lowell on Saturday.

Jordan Robinson and Derrick Colter also scored 10 apiece for the Dukes (4-5), who shot nearly 52 percent.

Mason's first 3-pointer pulled Duquesne into an early tie. His second gave the Dukes a lead, 10-7, that they would not lose. And his third was a dagger, putting Duquesne up more by than 20 points after halftime. Duquesne led by as many as many as 29 points in the second half.

Mason has made five or more treys in a game seven times.

Jahad Thomas scored 19 for the River Hawks (6-5), playing their first game in 10 days. Chad Holley added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and Marco Banegas-Flores 11, also with a trio of 3s and four steals.
