Hornsby leads Sacramento St. over S. Utah 69-63 in OT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Nick Hornsby stole the ball and drove for a layup and Cody Demps and Marcus Graves made four late free throws in overtime to secure Sacramento State's a 69-63 win over Southern Utah on Thursday night.

Hornsby, who had three steals, was 6 of 11 from the floor for 16 points. Justin Strings had 14 points and nine rebounds and Demps added 13 points for Sacramento State (12-16, 5-12 Big Sky Conference). Graves had 12 points and four assists.

The Hornets led from the midpoint of the second half until Travon Langston, who had 11 points, made a layup for Southern Utah with 49 seconds left to tie at 59. Demps responded with a jumper and then Langston made two late free throws to force the overtime. Langston scored six points in the final 2:10 of regulation.

Trey Kennedy led Southern Utah (5-22, 3-14) with 15 points.
