Holy Cross 62, New Hampshire 57
Devin Brown scored 15 points as Holy Cross beat New Hampshire 62-57 Saturday night.
Brown, one of the guards in the Crusaders' three-guard starting lineup, got help from backcourt mates R.J. Evans (14 points) and Justin Burrell, whose 13 points included 8 of 9 from the foul line. Holy Cross (3-5) got all but seven points from its starters.
Patrick Konan led New Hampshire (2-3) with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Chandler Rhoads contributed 10 points but made just 2 of 11 shots from the floor. Center Chris Matagrano came off the bench to contribute 11 points and 7 rebounds.
Each team shot less than 40 percent from the field. Both the Wildcats and Crusaders made 21 baskets, but it took New Hampshire 10 more shots to do so. The Wildcats were 21 for 64 (32.8 percent) while Holy Cross' 21 baskets came on 54 shots (38.9 percent).
