Shaquille Stokes hit a game-winning 3-pointer with nine seconds left to give Hofstra a 66-63 victory over South Dakota State on Friday night in the 2K Sports Classic.

Steve Mejia and Taran Buie scored 14 points apiece for the Pride, and Stokes finished with nine points.

Nate Wolters led South Dakota State (1-2) with a strong first half. Wolters hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left until halftime to give the Jackrabbits a 32-31 halftime lead. Wolters finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

After two free throws in the second half gave Hofstra (1-2) a 33-32 lead, South Dakota State took the lead at 39-38 after two free throws by Tony Fiegen. That was the last time the Jackrabbits led.

South Dakota State tied the game on a 3-pointer by Wolters with 32 seconds left before Stokes hit his winning shot for Hofstra.
