High Point pulls away in 72-50 win over Charleston Southern

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) John Brown scored 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting and had seven rebounds to lead High Point past Charleston Southern for a 72-50 win Saturday night.

Adam Weary and Andre Fox added 15 points each for High Point (16-9, 9-5 Big South), which shot 28 of 53 from the field and had a 33-24 rebounding advantage.

The Panthers took the lead for good late in the first half on the second of two straight buckets from Miles Bowman Jr., then got a layup from Fox to cap a 6-0 run and take a 32-28 lead at the break.

High Point opened the second half with a 20-6 run to seize control of the game. Fox had two of his three 3-pointers during the run while Lorenzo Cugini and Haiishen McIntyre each had one.

Armel Potter led Charleston Southern (9-17, 5-10) with 19 points and Reuben King added 12.
