High Point dominates Thomas University (Ga.) 85-48

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) John Brown scored 16 points, Lorenzo Cugini added 15, and High Point routed Thomas University (Ga.) 85-48 on Sunday, capturing its ninth non-conference win for the first time since 2007-08.

Austin White scored 13 for the Panthers (9-3), who are off to their best start in the program's Division I era.

High Point outrebounded Thomas 44-36 and converted 29 Night Hawks' personal fouls into 26 of 36 free throws (72.2 percent).

Javoris Cooks opened with a 3-pointer for Thomas, but High Point's Haiishen McIntyre hit a jumper to spark a 12-2 run, then the Panthers used a 9-2 run to pull away to lead 39-29 at halftime.

High Point outshot Thomas 15-8 in the first nine minutes of the second half and led 75-39 after White scored a layup, free throw and 3-pointer with 5:46 to go.

Alan Love led Thomas (11-2), a NAIA member, with 15 points and 17 rebounds.
