Bill Amis scored 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Joston Thomas had 14 points and 14 rebounds to carry Hawaii in a 67-61 win over San Jose State Saturday night.

The Rainbow Warriors (12-8, 3-5) won their third straight game in Western Athletic Conference play.

Hawaii used a 16-3 run in the closing minutes of the first half to take a 31-24 lead at intermission. San Jose State scored just six points in the final 6:03 of the half.

Thomas scored 10 of his points in the second half and grabbed 11 defensive rebounds. An 8-1 Hawaii run, capped by Vander Joaquim's putback with 4:56 to play, extended Hawaii's lead to 61-53.

Justin Graham led San Jose State (9-9, 1-6) with 20 points. Matt Ballard grabbed 10 rebounds for the Spartans.

Amis, who also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots, fouled out in the final minute.
