Yolonzo Moore II and Mark Nwakamma scored 13 points apiece, and Hartford rode a late 12-0 run to a 58-51 victory over Rice on Saturday night in the first-ever meeting between the schools.

Moore made three of Hartford's eight 3-pointers. Taylor Dyson added 10 points for the Hawks (6-5), and Parker U'u and Evan Cooper pulled down seven rebounds each.

Tamir Jackson led the Owls (2-7) with 18 points and seven rebounds, and Julian DeBose had 11 points.

Hartford trailed by as many as 11 in the first half before rallying to tie it at 27 at halftime. The second half went back and forth before Rice went ahead 44-41 on Jackson's fast-break layup with 7:01 to play. Moore came alive from there, making a jumper, a layup and a 3-pointer as the Hawks scored the next 12 points to put the game away.
