Green helps Niagara hold off Loyola (MD) 62-61

Juan'ya Green scored four of his 19 points in the final 56 seconds as Niagara held off Loyola (MD) 62-61 Wednesday night in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action, snapping a three-game skid.

The Purple Eagles (3-5, 1-1) trailed 25-17 at the 7:50 mark, then launched an 11-2 spurt to lead 28-27 at halftime.

Niagara built a 56-46 lead, but the Greyhounds (7-3, 0-1) chipped away and used an 8-0 run to tie it at 58 with 1:41 left.

Loyola had a chance to pull ahead when Dylan Cormier stole the ball from Green, but his layup was blocked by Ameen Tanksley.

Green made a layup with 26 seconds to go, then got his revenge on Cormier with a steal. After Green's two foul shots made it 62-58, Anthony Winbush hit a 3 with 1 second left.

Antoine Mason added 14 points for the Purple Eagles.

Cormier's 17 points led Loyola.
