Grand Canyon tops Bakersfield, 70-64, stays unbeaten in WAC
PHOENIX (AP) Grandy Glaze scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Grand Canyon extended its win streak to 12 games and remained undefeated in Western Athletic Conference play with a 70-64 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday night.
Grand Canyon holds a one-game lead over New Mexico State. The Antelope complete the first half of the conference season Saturday when the Antelope host Seattle.
Glaze scored 12 points in the first half, sparking the Antelopes to a 38-31 lead at intermission. Ryan Majerle drilled a 3-pointer with 14:24 left to push the lead to 10 points, 49-39. Glaze scored six points in the final 4:35 to help put the game away.
Joshua Braun converted 9 of 11 shots from the line and finished with 14 points for Grand Canyon (19-2, 6-0).
Kevin Mays scored 13 points and Aly Ahmed and Jaylin Airington contributed 12 each for Bakersfield (14-7, 4-2).
