Justin Patton scored 14 points to lead Grambling State to a 70-60 victory over Central Arkansas Saturday night at the Lumberjack Classic.
Derron Hobbs didn't take a shot from the field but went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line to join Patton in double figures for the Tigers (2-8). Peter Roberson blocked five shots and had eight rebounds to help Grambling own a 46-32 edge on the boards.
Grambling raced to a 33-18 halftime lead, scoring 10 straight points in one stretch midway through the first half.
Mark Rutledge led Central Arkansas (3-7) with 14 points. Imad Qahwash added 12 points and Tadre Sheppard scored 10 for the Bears.
