Gonzaga opens as solid favorite over South Carolina in Final Four matchup

The early line is out on the Final Four matchup on Saturday in Phoenix between Gonzaga and South Carolina. The top-seeded 'Zags are a strong choice in their matchup with the seventh-seeded Gamecocks.

Gonzaga enters the game with a 36-1 mark; while South Carolina has a school record 26 wins, it also has lost 10 games.

Hence, the 'Zags have opened as 6.5-point favorite, per Dave Mason, astute Las Vegas oddsmaker.

Mason mentioned that some backers of the Gamecocks already are cashing tickets. They were considered 40-1 long shots to make the Final Four when the tournament started.
