Jihad Ali scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half as Georgia State won its third straight game, beating Liberty 72-50 Saturday night.

The Panthers (3-3) have limited their last three opponents to an average of 49 points per game, with none scoring more than 50. They held the Flames (2-5) to 32.2 percent (19 of 59) shooting from the field.

Ali made all six of his shots for Georgia State, including four 3-pointers. Devonta White added 15 points and Eric Buckner blocked a career-high seven shots.

Georgia State led by as many as 12 points, 34-22, in the first half, but Liberty gradually cut the lead to 47-45 with 8:34 left in the game. The Panthers then went on a 15-2 run that included three 3-pointers and a jumper by Ali.

Tavares Speaks scored 16 points and Jesse Sanders 14 for Liberty, which has lost four straight.
