The NCAA has placed the Georgia Southern men's basketball program on probation for two years after finding "major" academic violations.

The NCAA said Wednesday an unnamed former assistant coach provided course work and in some cases completed the work for the two players from 2007-08.

Georgia Southern must vacate all wins in which the two players competed during the two seasons. The school loses one scholarship for three years.

Former coach Jeff Price resigned on March 30, shortly before athletic director Sam Baker announced the program was being investigated by the NCAA.
