Georgia Southern 101, Reinhardt 84

Jelani Hewitt scored 17 points to lead seven Georgia Southern players in double figures en route to a 101-84 victory over Reinhardt on Thursday night.

The Eagles (2-1) shot 34 for 52 (65.4 percent) from the field and led by as many as 22 points with 4:07 remaining in the game.

Ben Drayton and Eric Ferguson scored 16 points each, Rory Spencer added 13, Cameron Baskerville 11. Tre Bussey and Marvin Baynham each scored 10 for Georgia Southern.

David Lawson led the way for Reinhardt (0-1) with a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds. Gabe Hobbs scored 14, Steven Jenkins 13 and Carrlos Lyles 12.

Reinhardt shot 31 of 69 (44.9 percent) from the floor, but the difference in the game was free-throw shooting. Both teams missed 10 free-throw attempts, but Georgia Southern made 27 to Reinhardt's 16.
