Andre Cornelius hit a career-high seven 3-pointers, scoring 25 points, and George Mason pulled away from North Carolina-Wilmington in the second half Tuesday night for a 78-63 win, the Patriots' 10th straight.

George Mason (20-5, 12-2 Colonial Athletic Association) matched its winning streak from the 1998-99 season and is one victory away from equaling its 1983-84 record of 11 straight.

The Patriots also reached 20 wins faster than any other squad in school history, beating the 2005-06 Final Four team by a week.

Cornelius was 9 of 14 from the field and 7 of 10 from long range.

George Mason led 31-30 at halftime, then opened the second half on a 14-5 run.

The Seahawks (11-14, 5-9) got to 59-53 with 5:49 left on a pair of free throws by Chad Tomko, who finished with 20 points. Cornelius then hit a 3 and Isaiah Tate and Luke Hancock each converted three-point plays.
