Gardner-Webb pulls away from Presbyterian, 79-70

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) Jarvis Davis came off the bench to score 19 points, hitting 3 of 4 3-point attempts, to lead Gardner-Webb to a 79-70 win over Presbyterian Wednesday night.

Presbyterian's Reggie Dillard made a layup with under eight minutes left to even the score at 59, but Gardner-Webb responded with a 10-4 run to take control of the game.

The Runnin' Bulldogs held a commanding advantage on the boards, outrebounding Presbyterian 41-27, pulling down 17 offensive rebounds, allowing Gardner-Webb to take 16 more shots.

Donta Harper and Josh Castellanos scored 15 and 12 points, respectively, for Gardner-Webb (15-13, 8-5 Big South) and Jerome Hill pulled down 14 rebounds and scored nine points.

Dillard finished with 24 points to lead Presbyterian (6-22, 2-11), which shot 53 percent from the field (25 of 47). Jordan Downing added 19 points and William Truss contributed 10.
