Furman 70, Samford 63
Amu Saaka scored 23 points and Furman scored the final 12 points of the game to rally past Samford 70-63 on Saturday.
Samford led 63-58, but was held scoreless in the final 3:11, going 0 for 6 from the field with a turnover. Furman, meanwhile, made all six of its free-throw attempts in the final 47 seconds to seal the win.
The win gave the Paladins (20-7, 12-4 Southern Conference) their first 20-win season since 1990-91.
Brandon Sebirumbi added 12 points, including going 6 of 7 from the foul line for the Paladins, who have won three in a row and five of their past six games.
Samford lost its shooting touch in the second half, going 8 for 22 after making 73.7 percent (14 of 19) in the first half.
Jeffrey Merritt scored 12 points and Josh Bedwell chipped in 11 for the Bulldogs (12-16, 4-12), who have lost four in a row and are 2-11 since Jan. 8.
