Freshman Rhea rallies American past Youngstown State 60-56

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) Jalen Rhrea scored all of his eight points in the final minutes as American University defeated Youngstown State 60-56 Friday night, breaking the Penguins' four-game winning streak.

Jesse Reed led the Eagles (2-5) with a season-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Marko Vasic had five assists.

Youngstown State (4-5) led 32-22 at the half, but the game was close throughout. Rhea's first basket, a 3-pointer with 2:15 to play, lifted American into a 55-54 lead. Rhea, a freshman playing before 20 family and friends, drained another 3 after Delante Jones rebounded a Penguins miss. Rhea drew a foul and hit two from the line with one second left.

Matt Donlan and Cameron Morse each scored 12 points for Youngstown State. The Penguins committed 13 turnovers as American had nine steals - Jones led with three. American also hit 10 3-pointers. Reed scored three of his four treys after halftime.
