Fordham holds off George Mason 73-62

NEW YORK (AP) Antwoine Anderson scored 23 points, Christian Sengfelder 16 and Fordham held off George Mason 73-62 Wednesday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

Mandell Thomas scored all 11 of his points in the first half when the Rams took a nine-point lead. Ryan Rhoomes finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Fordham (11-6, 2-4 Atlantic 10) has won all six meetings with the Patriots (7-12, 1-5), who committed 17 turnovers.

Sengfelder scored four points to start the second half and give Fordham its biggest lead, 41-28. George Mason was within four with two minutes left before Anderson hit a 3-pointer and two free throws to start an 8-0 run.

Marquise Moore led George Mason with 18 points.

Before the game, a moment of silence was observed for Johnny Bach, Fordham's winningest coach who went on to an NBA coaching career. Bach died Monday at 91. Services were held Wednesday in Chicago.
