Florida Gulf Coast 47, Campbell 39
Anthony Banks scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Florida Gulf Coast defeated Campbell 47-39 on Saturday.
In a game marked by missed shots, Banks and Marlon Rivera found plenty of rebounding opportunities. Banks narrowly missed his fifth double-double of the season by one rebound while Rivera led the Eagles with 10.
Florida Gulf Coast (7-19, 4-12 Atlantic Sun Conference) made only 4 of 20 shots in the first half, but was within five at halftime. The Eagles made only 10 of 41 overall, but got to the line in the second half, making 20 of 25 free throws.
The Eagles won despite Christophe Varidel's struggles. After 13 straight games scoring in double figures, Varidel missed all seven shots from the field.
Eric Griffin was the only Campbell player in double figures, scoring and rebounding, with 13 points and 12 boards for the Camels (12-15, 6-12).
