Florida Atlantic breezes past NAIA Warner 98-70

Greg Gantt scored 21 points as Florida Atlantic breezed to a 98-70 win over Warner on Saturday night.

Gantt hit 9 of 12 field goals for the Owls (4-5), who shot 63.6 percent from the field in the first half (21 of 33).

Florida Atlantic finished at 53.7 percent from the floor (36 of 67), including 12 of 25 3-pointers.

The Owls made 10 of 15 from long range en route to a 58-32 halftime lead.

The NAIA Royals also shot well, hitting 28 of 53 field goals (52.8 percent).

Warner had a 10-9 lead with 14:55 left in the first half when the Owls launched a 23-6 run, highlighted by five 3-pointers.

Freshman Omari Grier made five first-half 3s to finish with 18 points.

Pablo Bertone had 11 rebounds as Florida Atlantic nearly doubled the much taller Royals team in rebounding, 42-22.

Bryce Kachinski led Warner with 18 points.
