FGCU hoops coach Dooley gets 2-year extension through 2020

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) Florida Gulf Coast University has given basketball coach Joe Dooley a two-year extension through the 2019-20 season.
The Eagles announced the move Saturday, along with a raise in Dooley's salary. FGCU went 21-14 this past season, winning the Atlantic Sun championship and an opening-round game in the NCAA Tournament.
Dooley has won at least 21 games in each of his three seasons with the Eagles. He's 65-38 at FGCU, with trips to the NIT, CIT and the NCAA Tournaments in those three seasons.
FGCU athletic director Ken Kavanagh says Dooley ''took over the program at a pivotal time and has elevated our overall results since.''
The Eagles have players returning next season that represent 84 percent of their points, 88 percent of rebounds and 89 percent of assists from 2015-16.
