FAMU tops UMES 81-80 in 2OT for first road win of the season

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) Craig Bowman hit four 3-pointers and scored 25 - both career highs - including the winning jumper with seven seconds left in double overtime to help Florida A&M beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 81-80 Monday night.

The Rattlers snapped the nation's longest active road winless streak at 29 games.

Malcolm Bernard finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Justin Ravenal scored 10 for Florida A&M (8-18, 4-9 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Devin Martin scored six straight points to put UMES (8-21, 5-9) up 80-77 with two minutes to play, but the Hawks committed a pair of turnovers as it went scoreless from there.

K'Ja Johnson's layup trimmed FAMU's deficit to 80-79 with 1:17 remaining before Bowman hit the winner 70 seconds later.

Martin led UMES with 24 points. Dominique Elliott scored 19 with 12 rebounds and Bakari Copeland added 14 points.
