Kinu Rochford scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as hot-shooting Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Longwood 79-71 Monday to end a three-game skid.
The Knights (5-7) shot 61.4 percent from the field (27 of 44) and made 22 of 25 free throws. The Lancers (3-11), had many more field goal attempts but went only 29 of 68 and were 9 of 17 from the foul line.
Rochford, coming off a 30-point, 16-rebound performance in Fairleigh Dickinson's 96-67 loss to Virginia Commonwealth, made 12 of 13 field goals and 8 of 11 free throws.
Melquan Bolding added 22 points and nine rebounds for the Knights, who scored the last four points of the first half to lead 39-35 at the break, then opened the second half on an 11-5 run to pull away.
Michael Kessens had 17 points and Tristan Carey 16 to lead Longwood, which has lost four straight.
